Natalie Morales
|
|
Natalie has been studying varied approaches to Hatha
yoga since 1981, including Anusara, Ashtanga, Bikram,
Kundalini, Iyengar and the style some call Viniyoga.
She started teaching in 1995, blending her experience
into light-hearted classes where we are encouraged to
make our own multi-layered study of the self that
extends way beyond the physical. She promotes each
class as an act of self-discovery, not just by
emphasizing body-awareness through asana, but also by
encouraging us to fine-tune an awareness in the patterns
of thought and emotion that underlie our movement. She
believes that the most well-rounded approach to life and
yoga involves experimenting with various styles, to
honor our multi-faceted personalities. To help students
experience this, she teaches Yoga Nidra, Restorative,
and a style she calls Funyasa™, a power-vinyasa hybrid
with special emphasis on fun. To learn more about her,

Loree Shrager
|
|
During
her first yoga class in 1990, Loree Shrager realized
that she had found what she had been craving. Back pain
from severe scoliosis lead her to spontaneously invent
some stretches for limited relief. With yoga came the
exciting discovery of a wide world to explore. Since
then Loree has been passionate about yoga and has
continued to study different styles under many
teachers. She has been certified to teach by Peter
Barber, Bobbi Goldin and Erich Schiffmann. Loree has a
PhD. in clinical psychology, and was able to incorporate
and examine yoga’s myriad effects in her final
dissertation. Today she teaches throughout Miami, is
the co-owner of Dharma Studio in Coconut Grove, works as
a therapist, and is the mother of two amazing boys. Her
flowing style is always changing, and she’s known for
classes that are challenging, relaxing, fun and soothing
all at once.
Gabriel Axel
|
|
Fascinated
by inner workings of the brain, Gabriel
studied Neuroscience and Cognition at
renowned Institutions including Utrecht
University, UCLA and Harvard. Always
investigating themes that intrigue him, he
wrote his Master’s thesis on the
Intersection of Vision, Art and Evolution.
His interest in yoga was ignited once he
experienced how it exercises body, mind and
spirit. Since then, he has pursued it as a
lifestyle that reconciles his need for
physical activity with his longstanding
desire to go deeper within, potentially
unraveling the mysteries of consciousness.
Gabriel sees yoga as technology that opens
the palpable body and the metaphorical
heart, and believes that it can be used as a
mirror, to clearly reflect who we are at
each moment. His teaching style is at once
empathic and challenging, reminding us to
honor ourselves and face our fears in order
to realize our own transformation. Since the
world is made manifest by individual and
collective intentionality, he believes that
the sooner we take responsibility for our
thoughts, words and actions, the sooner we
will empower ourselves and the those around
us. With this aim, he presents yoga as a
valuable aid in fostering self-awareness and
compassion. Gabriel continues dedicated
training with Ken von Roenn III and Lina
Vallejo, the founders of Skanda Yoga, plays
guitar, bass & drums, composes music and
dances tango in his spare time.

Jason Lawner

Jason
has been an active athlete his entire life, thriving on
the challenge and discipline of physical exercise. He
participated in triathlons from the age of 10, and as a
result of ruthless training at such a tender age,
developed back injuries so serious that he was forced to
wear a brace for almost 3 years. After sustaining a
knee injury, he was sidelined from sports altogether his
sophomore year in High School. As a means of rehab, he
reluctantly checked out a yoga class, and came away with
something that he never got in his years of training in
the gym: an overall sense of wellbeing. Since then he’s
never looked back. Having learned first-hand about the
body’s capacity to heal itself by applying principles of
biomechanical alignment taught in yoga, Jason is proof
of the resilience of the human spirit and the healing
power of yoga. He has studied Anusara® Yoga extensively
with John Friend, Desirée Rambaugh, Sianna Sherman, Amy
Ippoliti and Jordan Bloom, among others. He completed a
Level I Anusara® Yoga Teacher Training, and was
certified to teach Skanda Yoga by the founder Ken von Roenn
III. Jason shares his experience and puts his skill
into action in his classes, invoking the warrior spirit
for a challenging and self-empowering practice.

Kira Miska
|
|

Finding Yoga at the age of 16,
Kira began her practice in the throes of teenage angst,
in search of self-acceptance. For years, she continued
to study and explore healing movement, driven by a
desire to cultivate self-love. When she dove
heart-first into a bout of Karma Yoga at an ashram of
altruistic work in South Wales (where mandatory silence
was only broken for daily chanting) she was forever
transformed. Eventually, Kira completed 600 hours of
Yoga Alliance training, and came out beaming. As a
teacher, she aims to help her students fine-tune
alignment, not only in the physical body, but also in
life. Drawing from many styles ranging from Ashtanga to
Kundalini to Restorative Yoga, Kira is always opening up
new vibrations within herself and resonating them out to
her students as she guides them in class. With a B.A.
in Philosophy and B.A. in Gender from the University of
Miami, Kira shares her teaching with authentic gratitude
emanating from her devotional spirit. Kira teaches
straight from the heart, hoping to restore in each of us
an awareness of our greatest potential.

was a teenager when she first encountered Raquel
Welch’s now-famous book of yoga. She was so

Jivamukti with undertones of traditional Vipassana
Meditation and Tantric ParaYoga®. Her
approach is safe, sensual and totally enjoyable.
She teaches delicious flowing Vinyasa classes, and
heads the Prenatal & Postnatal Yoga Program at
Dharma Studio.

Michael Olusczak, 4th Degree Black Belt Ki-tae
Ryu
C-RYT Vinyasa Yoga 200
Michael first began studying karate as a
kid, with great encouragement from his
mother. Through the hard work and
discipline he learned in the dojo, Michael
has excelled not just in the Martial Arts,
but also in academia and life. After
graduating Cum Laude from Arizona State
University on a Martial Arts scholarship, he
took his degree in Finance into the
corporate world, but eventually harmonized
his intentions with his actions when he
returned to teaching Mixed Martial Arts in
Coconut Grove in 2004. During this
time, wise and persistent people convinced
him to study yoga, and he found that
combining the philosophies of martial arts &
yoga could unveil many ‘universal truths’
from basic physical postures to more
esoteric practices like internal power
development. It is with the aim of
reaching a unified understanding that
Michael has been teaching yoga and martial
arts in Miami since 2005. His students
range from 7 to 71 years old and he learns
more about the arts from all of them, every
class.
