A native of Arequipa, Peru, Elarf started painting professionally at the age of sixteen. He is an accomplished and awarded artist. He credits the masters Cezanne, Rembrandt and Van Gogh as his inspiration.

Elarf prefers still life as his major focus and strives to capture every facet and detail of his subject. His pieces have a simple, spacious contemporary quality. He utilizes background colors in stark contrast to the topic.

Elarf Lopez has exhibited in many solo shows internationally, in the U.S. and Canada. He is in private and corporate collections throughout the world including Japan, Mexico and most of South America.
