Born in Arequipa, Peru, Thomas Lizarraga graduated from the University of Arequipa. He then earned his Fine Arts degree from the prominent "Carlos Baca Flor"School of fine Art. He furthered his studies in Fine Arts with Adolpho Winternitz. Thomas also studied "French Contemporary Art" at the Thomas Jefferson Institute of Fine Art.

Thomas Lizarraga paints realism with rich classic influences and Renaissance style. He uses traditional still life subjects with delicate lighting. He also creates larger than life familiar fruits. Thomas uses bold color and perfect details such as a drop of water or the peelings of an orange so vivid one might believe his paintings to be a photograph.

Although Oils are his preference, he is an accomplished watercolorist and has been honored with several awards.
Thomas has exhibited internationally, is represented by galleries worldwide and has personal and corporate collectors.
